At the University of Idaho Kibbie Dome, Knot’s wayfinding supports Vandals’ team spirit through large-scale wall graphics and donor messages.
The University of Idaho Kibbie Dome, also known as the ASIU Activity Center, houses a wide variety of events and functions—making Knot’s wayfinding and placemaking expertise critical to all who use the facility. The Kibbie Dome project entailed placemaking specialty graphics, adding visual energy to an institution where team spirit for the UI Vandals is of upmost importance. The multi-purpose building houses basketball, tennis, soccer, football, and track and field teams, as well as the university’s athletic department. The dome’s construction nearly 50 years ago followed several years of off-site athletic events for the Vandals, so its completion marked an important hallmark. Due to the large volume of student, faculty and general public traffic, Knot’s program highlights past and present team success, as well as donor recognition. Large scale photographs of University of Idaho Vandals events, as well as plaques honoring donors, tell the stories of team spirit and donor generosity. The outcome is both inviting and inspiring, setting a course for more decades of growth and college spirit at the university.
